WHEN IN INDIA

"Ethnic diversity adds richness to a society"
- Gary Locke
As we all know, India is a land of customs and traditions. And the time when you come face to face with these is during a religious or wedding ceremony. Let's talk about weddings for now. The winter months are also referred as the wedding season in India. It is beautiful, chaotic and a riot of colours.
The best part about weddings is that there is no such term as being over-dressed. Thus, it leaves a huge window to experiment with our ethnic wardrobe. What I love most about Indian ethnic wear is that there are numerous ways to wear, accessorize and carry it. For example there are more than a dozen different ways to just drape a saree. Once you are over that you have a whole lot of options of how to stylize or experiment with your saree. You can don a jacket on top of it and give it a fusion look by wearing it with trousers or a crop top. The same rule goes with salwar suits and lehengas. The range looks to be quite small but there are scores of different silhouettes and multilpe ways to stylize and wear it.
I love experimenting with my ethnic wear. For instance in this shoot of mine I wore an anarkali as an ankle length gown with a shrug on top. I fashioned a neckpice as a kamarbandh and completed the look by adding an over-sized maang tikka.
Do you let me know what do you think about it. :)
Much Love
